Veterans Memorial Theatre Company STILL LOOKING TO FILL TWO ROLES!
Written by Veterans Memorial Theatre Company

The Veterans Memorial Theatre Company is presenting an original Full length play at the Broad Brook Opera House on Memorial Day Weekend! We have cast all but two roles for the production of "Slick Sleeves".

Still Seeking

Major Olmsted: The "everyman" soldier's voice in the play. He stands apart from the action, commenting from the side of the stage. Major Olmsted died in January 2008 in Iraq and requested his final post be made available in the event of his death. He is an experienced, midlife career soldier who has a keen sense of irony and healthy self-depreciation. Major Olmsted is well read, an active thinker, has thought deeply about soldiering, what he has contributed to the world, and why he thinks an active military is a necessity.

First Lt. O'Neal: A West Point graduate, 28, who job includes discouraging misfits from pursuing military life if they are clearly unsuited for it. He has brief appearances at the beginning and end of the play, but his main scene is confronting a recruit (Matt) who has performed poorly in skills training and hopes to be a war correspondent.
